TPU granule production process

The production process of TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer) granules mainly includes the following steps:

First, the main raw materials need to be prepared, such as polyol oligomers, diisocyanates, and chain extenders. The selection and proportion of these raw materials will directly affect the performance of the TPU granules.

Next, the raw materials undergo a prepolymerization reaction. By controlling the reaction temperature, time, and pressure, the raw materials are partially polymerized to form a prepolymer.

Then, the prepolymer is mixed with a chain extender, and a chain growth reaction is carried out under certain conditions to further extend the polymer chain, forming a high molecular weight chain with alternating ester groups and urethane groups.

After the reaction is complete, the reactant is cut into uniform TPU granules by a specific granulation device. During this process, parameters such as cutting speed, temperature, and particle size need to be controlled to ensure the quality and stability of the granules.

In addition, the TPU granules are post-processed, including drying, screening, and packaging, to remove moisture and impurities, and improve the purity and performance of the product.

The entire production process requires strict control of the conditions and parameters of each link to ensure that the quality and performance of the TPU granules meet the standards.
